Vetpocket is excited to announce that the College of Southern Nevada’s (CSN) Veterinary Nursing Program has joined the Vetpocket School Program, bringing free Pro access to its veterinary nursing instructors and continued support for its students.

As part of the Vetpocket School Program, every instructor in CSN’s Veterinary Nursing Program now has free access to Vetpocket’s full library of clinical calculators, drug formulary, and treatment reference materials. CSN students already receive a free year of Vetpocket Pro with a valid school email, and the school now also receives a dedicated discount code for the Vetpocket store and a direct line of support for its student chapter.

For a program built around hands-on clinical training, that instructor access matters as much as the student side of the agreement. CSN’s Veterinary Nursing Program routes students through clinical rotations at the college’s own on-campus veterinary clinic, where instructors are the ones setting the standard for how calculations and reference lookups get done under real working conditions. Giving every instructor the same tools their students use — for free, for as long as they teach in the program — keeps that standard consistent across the whole cohort instead of varying instructor to instructor.

“Veterinary nursing students deserve tools that build confidence from day one,” said Dr. Danelia de Kock, DVM, Chief Veterinary Officer and Co-Founder of Vetpocket. “We’re glad to welcome the College of Southern Nevada’s Veterinary Nursing Program into the Vetpocket School Program and support their instructors and students as they train the next generation of veterinary professionals.”

CSN joins a growing list of veterinary programs using the Vetpocket School Program to put clinical reference tools directly into the classroom rather than leaving students to find and pay for one on their own after graduation. The program’s discount code for the Vetpocket store and a direct support line for its student chapter round out the agreement, giving CSN’s veterinary nursing community a consistent point of contact with the Vetpocket team as the partnership grows. For a limited-entry program that already reports a strong first-time VTNE pass rate, the goal of the partnership is straightforward: give students one less variable to manage on the way to that exam, and give instructors a shared, reliable reference to teach from.

About the College of Southern Nevada’s Veterinary Nursing Program

Based in Las Vegas, the College of Southern Nevada offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Veterinary Nursing, accredited by the AVMA Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA). The program is limited-entry, requiring applicants to attend a health programs orientation and meet with an advisor before applying, and it pairs classroom instruction with hands-on clinical rotations at CSN’s own on-campus veterinary clinic.

From January 2022 to January 2025, CSN reported an 82.4% first-time pass rate on the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE), with 28 of 36 eligible students passing on their first attempt — a strong showing on the exam every graduate needs to pass to become a credentialed veterinary technician. Graduates go on to work in private veterinary practice, zoo medicine, education, medical research, and industrial veterinary medicine, with coursework covering diagnostic imaging, dental hygiene, medical laboratory services, anesthesia, and behavioral and radiological assistance. CSN serves the Las Vegas area through three main campuses and several learning centers, making this partnership relevant to one of the larger veterinary nursing student populations in the region.
